A passing 'sin
Well I came, saw and conquered with my 'sin, but alas it held no long term joy for me.
Satya Samskara is no more.
I have sympathy for you who are playing your 'sins... I know you pain not just from my romp as a 'sin, but as my favorite profession of Mesmer.
You have my respect for playing a complex profession that is under-appreciated by almost everyone.
/salute

Don't be silly. My lvl 20 assassin will eventually have a minipet, and I am sure it will be nerved to be stronger by than. GW will eventually see the error of their ways, creating a profession (That also goes for the ritualist with those terrible weak spirits) so weak, very few people can effectively play with.

Critcal defence would be a descent skill if they just tweaked the durration a lil bit
maybe 10 seconds?... then Critical defence would be more efficient...
Flashing blades should have a higer chance 75 maybe
they do have the weakest defence skills out of any class... more though should be put into shadow arts for some evasion type skills...

not flamming or anything, but it devastates most bosses and can be used in PvP too

with flashing blades being able to stay up for almost 3/4 of the time, 75% would be unfair.
Rit spirits may be weak alone, but there are many Rits in RA and TA who use Ritual Lord and spam, disenchantment, dissonance, shadowsong, pain, bloodsong, and painful bond. that HURTS! and you cant do anything!

yea it would be unfair at 75% IF FB wasn't a 50% chance ONLY while attacking
all other classes defences blow this one out of the watter...
having 75% + to evade/block attacks some block anything...
Flashing blades is 50% block WHILE attacking
Crit defence can get up to 70's for a 6 second durration, and can be refreshed by landiong a crit
which criticals become completely unreliable past the slums area with everything being lvl 24+ your origional 35% crit chance turns into nothingness... the 6 second durration is hardley ever enough time to switch to the nect target and hope to land a critical...
like i said... keep Flashing Blades to while attacking but make it 75% and or make Critical defence have a 10 sec duration with a 30 sec recharge... or at the least they could make the duration 6..10 duration scale it will skill level...
flashing blades could be 50...75
they both are pretty useless for simply throwing a stance up to recoup dmg or take off running for cover...
Assassins are way to soft of a class to be as melee intensive as they are...
I tried today to make a ranged asn with deadly arts... which the most angering part is their isn't any chainable ranged attacks AND they never land a critical hit...
they have no expceptional defence skills
no exceptional healing skills
no exceptional armor
the only thing they have is high dmg... what good is that damage if they have to continuousely be in and out of combat or if they are dead already from a 2-3 hitter

Erm......... No. Unless you mean those spirits which take ages to cast and nobody bothers to interrupt, because they suck. Not to mention the recharging time of each of them. They make me laugh. One minute recharge time, in a two-minute battle.
Let's get back to topic now

PvEing with an assassin is just about as much fun as going to go watch Mission Impossible 3 (Damn Scientologists).
But, you need the Slashing damage weapons
PvP daggers are piercing, which makes what own you? SHIELDS UP.
Lots of people run that homo-garbage because of gay rspikes, DEER!
BUT, if you PvE and get Shiro's blades and Everthorn's Chakrams you get Slashing damage ^-^

Assassin primaries = Aura of Displacement abuse in GvG.
Mes/Assassin means they are running Shadow Shroud, or Aura of Displacement and possibly Dark Escape.

why would a mesmer want to use a teleport-to-target spell? wouldn't that be considered attempted suicide?

AoD is broken, not broken as in it doesn't work, as in it is to damn good.
It is one of the best skills in the game at the moment.

"Assassins not only teleport in, they also teleport out"
and why would a mesmer want to teleport out when he's not even teleported in? AoD needs a teleport in before it can do a teleport out. unless he's doing some touch ranged spells (which mesmers do not have), he will never need AoD.
